Fishing

Fishing is allowed during open park hours from the north and southeast shorelines. Fishing is prohibited from the boardwalks, platforms and any areas where there is raised railing. 

A State of Florida fishing license is required per FWC regulations. Please visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission website for more information on license requirements and other regulations. 

Cranes Roost Lake produces a variety of species including: bass, crappie, catfish and sunfish, which includes bluegill and redear sunfish (shellcracker). Sunfish are often called "bream" (pronounced "brim"). Game fish may only be taken with pole and line or rod and reel. We promote conservation along with catch and release for fish not being taken for food. Please place used fishing line and/or artificial bait in the proper trash receptacles.
